State Park Laguna Jansen

The State Park Laguna Jansen was created by Law 4870 of June 23, 1988, São Luís, Maranhão state, northeastern Brazil, with an area of 150 hectares.

Ecological park around the most famous lagoon of St. Louis are 6 thousand square meters of area with restaurants, sports courts, bike paths, jogging track and plenty of space for those who enjoy fresh air and free space. Opened in late 2001 by Governor Roseana Sarney, the site became immediately a great community center, with high frequency of residents and visitors to the city. One of the crowded is the Belvedere Lagoon, where you get a comprehensive view of the entire region.The Lagoa da Jansen takes its name from the historical tradition, because it receives maritime influences, creating a reality in Laguna.

Intersected by broad boulevards, the Ecological Park of Lagoa da Jansen is named in honor of the most famous matriarch of St. Louis

Located between Praia da Ponta d'Areia and Bairro São Francisco, the park is sandwiched between the sea and the urban area, but has kept an incredible variety of fauna and flora of the native forest.
