Jericoacoara Beach

Jericoacoara is a peaceful fishing village situated among dunes on the west coast of Ceará, about 3 degrees below the equator, with 320 sunny days per year. Elected by the Washington Post as one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in the world, Jeri, as it is called by locals, is surrounded by freshwater lakes, crystal clear and blue, calm seas and huge dunes where it is possible to admire the sunset most beautiful in Brazil.
Jericoacoara is located in an EPA - Environmental Protection Area - since 1984. IBAMA in 2002 transformed the entire region in a national park, bringing many restrictions for new buildings and greater control in their preservation.
Jericoacoara National Park covers an area 6850.00 hectares, and extends in the municipalities of Jijoca Jericoacoara and Cruz, where lies Prea beach.
